Description Stevan White 2003-04-13 23:02:01 UTC
Version: 1.1 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

On running, Umbrella window appears, but on right side of window,
see a narrow pane with a single round rectangle in it, and what
looks like a scroll arrow.

Results in the program being useless.

Please try again with the 1.1.1 Mandrake RPM. Thanks.

Problem was, at some point I had installed it from the tarball, and hadn't
un-installed that before I installed the RPM's.

I really want to use the latest version. So I just installed umbrello from CVS. Same thing happened again.

So I did a
   make uninstall
and I removed
   .kde/share/config/umbrellorc
Then I did another
   make install.

No improvement.

I never installed the rpm on this system. I had installed a previous CVS version, but I think the above steps should have removed it, yes?

This is now Mandrake 9.2 with KDE 3.1.3

Please see the FAQ. http://uml.sourceforge.net/faq.php
Why don't I have any icons on the toolbar?

This is an issue with KDE rather than with Umbrello.

Just so.

I suggest then that instead of installing the binary in /usr/local/bin,
you have the installer put a script there. The script could very easily
specify $KDEDIRS.

Then you could make the problem go away.
