I know that there have been several reports from kde 2.2.x, but now we've got 3.1 crashing to deal with...here's the trace...I'm running debian woody on an iMac, with a 2.4.20 kernel...

If still present this is likely an artsd bug and not a noatun bug (noatun crashes due to artsd failing to start).
Please reopen if a clear cause for the crash has been found. Maybe try testing arts first, there's a test-button in the kde control-center for that (look under sound & multimedia configuration).
