Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Hello, when I switch to a different theme in kthememanager, the style is not changed as required. For example, when I create a theme using QT-Windows as the style, switch to another style and then switch back to the theme I have previously created, the style remains unchanged. Kthememanager does not seem to remember the style assigned to a theme.

Okay, I think everyone will agree that the Theme Manager is almost totally useless in KDE 3.1 and even dangerous (see my bug about it destroying my entire system by using the tehme manager). This is why I am suggesting that a theme package should be able to change everything about KDE's appearance, sound and feel. This means that everything in the "Look n Feel" section, System Notifications in Sound & Multimidia and Desktop should be completely altered by a theme, everything there. This would finally make it easier for people to share their desktop with the world. It will also help businesses easily deploy a custom desktop and newbies will no longer have to mess with odd installation instructions and style compilations etc. There won't be any more of this: What Window Decoration is that? What fonts are you using? What icons ar ethose? What wallpaper is that? What style is that? etc. Now you can simply point them to a theme. Themes should also be easy to create, there could be a button such as "create theme from setup" which could atutomagically make a theme from the user's current desktop. This way I can have all my desktops look and act the way I want them to without wasting hours.
I absolutely agree with that! I have just downloaded a new theme, and in order to apply it I had to select the theme manager, pick the new theme, click apply, select the window decoration, choose IceWM, click the configure tab, select the related configuration for the new theme, click on style, select the according style, select icons and so on and so on... All this is completely unnecessary! After downloading a new theme, all the user should have to do is click on the new theme's name in the look & feel part of theme manager and that's it! Otherwise, it is not a "theme" if you have to assemble it from parts scattered all over! If you don't like a detail of the current theme, you should still be able to adjust things like icons and resave it under a different - but a theme should keep it all together!
