I don't use konsole with transparent background because it's generate garbage background. I have multihead mode, on my first screen (32 bit mode with nvidia driver) all is work fine, but on my second screen (16 bit color detph with vesa driver) transparent doesn't work. I have the same behaviour with other application like kopete, so it doesn't be a konsole unique probleme (if the transparent background work identicaly). I have xfree 4.2.1 and i don't test yep kde 3.1 because of lack of rpms for Mandrake.

This bug are yet in KDE 3.1 but now I haven't garbage but the color of transparency as 
garbage
