Description Bernhard Friedrichs 2003-02-18 11:21:18 UTC
Version: 3.1 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

I can not find an option to export the calender file as HTML with a FIXED DATE range.

Is it possible to tell korganizer to export this month and the following 3...6 months per DEAFAULT? This would be necessary for office planning.

If this is not implemented yet you might think of this because our planning must be 6 months ahead (for others it might be interesting to have it fixed from January to December).

(the msg. is not related to earlier reports as no. 30849).

Best regards, Bernhard

export of calender as HTML is still not possible - but as I understand not planned; that is ok for me. Program is excellent. Thanks, Bernhard

That's a very valid wishlist item, it's just that we are really short of time and developers. I reopen the wish so that it doesn't get lost...
Also, this should be fairly simple to implement (everything is in one class, no need to know about the internals of korganizer), so this is a good candidate for a junior job (JJ:).

I'd certainly be interested in something like this. Can you describe what functionality you have in mind here, step by step? I know what I might have in mind, but I want to see if it correlates with your ideas. It sounds a bit like a simple reporting/querying tool on your calendar. Is there another KDE component/application that could be used to plug in and do this, or would it need to be written from scratch?

Since this is implemented now we should close this bug

Hmm, I'm not sure if it's really implemented the way it was originally requested. To me the wish sounds like the reporter doesn't want a fixed reange as far as dates are concerned, but rather a fixed-length range relative to the current date ("from now through now plus 6 months"). That's a big difference if you automatically export the calendar, since you'd have to adjust the date range manually otherwise.

Cheers,
Reinhold

I find the option to export to HTML with every save. It seems here we could simply duplicate the manual export features. That is, before being able to actually auto-export at every save, you have to manually check this feature. There could be implemented along side it a feature that allows for exporting such-and-such range. Instead of asking for dates here, as is done in the manual export, we could ask for an export type (eg. monthly, or weekly, or daily) and a range (eg. 6 months, or 5 weeks, or 10 days, respectively)

I'm new to this, but would like to help out if at all possible.

Best,
Phillip

In addition this was something I was going to include also as a wish. I am currently exporting automatically my schedule and publishing on the web. The problem is that only the current month is exported. This means that if we are on the 29th of a month, other people can only see the next days. It would be great if, like it was described here, one could specify how much time must be exported.

In fact, in the konsolekalender version, it already exists. With the option show-next you can specify how many days you want to see. Currently I am using konsolekalender and the export facility instead of the one of korganizer because of this feature.

Best,

Adds options to export HTML using a fixed date

This creates a new Range tab, moves the date range over to it, and adds an
option export using a range from the current date to 1-* Day, Week, Month, Year

Hopefully this was what the original poster was trying to go for.

Only issues I'm worried about with how I implemented this. The fixed range must
be set to 0 in order for the date start and date end range to work correctly.

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.

It has been implemented on KDE4. I close this wish.
