Description Xu Jian 2003-02-18 09:00:30 UTC
Version: 2.1.5 (using KDE 3.1.0)
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-workstation2

Using Kdevelop 2.1.5 for KDE 3.1. I can not set up the KDELibs-DOC either in KDevelop-Setup or in IDE. It acts like this.

It says the path doesn't lead to KDELibs-DOC directory.
However, After I have chosen to re-build DOC from Kdelib-3.1 source. It still says so.
the KDOC I am using is KDoc 2.0a53
generated structure , under KDElibDoc/

dcop/ kabc/ kded/ kdejava/ kdeui/ kfile/ kio/ kparts/ kssl/ libkmid/
interfaces/ kdecore/ kdefx/ kdeprint/ kdoc-reference/ khtml/ kjs/ kspell/ kutils/

I tried to set the directory to KDElibDoc but failed.

I'll take a look at this. It deals with changes I have made for the
Debian packages of KDevelop.

Thanks.

Comment 2 Mario Scalas 2003-02-22 21:19:05 UTC
Same for me here (gentoo linux/kde-3.1.0/kdevelop-2.1.5). I upgraded from 2.1.3 and
got no qt/KDE docs anymore. By accident I deleted
$HOME/.kde/share/config/kdeveloprc & $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kdevelop.
Then when i launched kdevelop again, kdevelop-setup shown (obviously ;): it found
both qt and kde-3.1.0 (doxygen format) docs. Now I can see the docs :)

Hope it helps.
Cheers,
Mario.

Same for me here (slackware-current linux/kde-3.1.0/kdevelop-2.1.5). I upgraded from
2.1.4 by compiling the sources from kdevelop-2.1.5_for_KDE_3.1.tar.bz2 and got no
qt/KDE docs anymore. Even generated from the sources (in eny directory) it says:
"this is not a KDE-Doc directory". Looking into the sources reveiled that in case
KDE_QTVER>=3 it is lookong for *.tag.gz ot *.tag files to verify it is a KDE-Doc
directory (and they are not there, neither they are automatically generated when the
docs are generated from the sources). Forcing KDE_QTVER to 2 by
#define KDE_QTVER 2
solved the problem (for me;-)))

Best regards.

... same here too on my RedHat 9 setup!

I'm new to linux (having now decided to quit from Windows) so please could
someone say where this file is to modify the #define? ... and how to compile
and replace the old file?

I also can't figure out how to install Glimpse - just can't find it under that
name!

Thanks, Rob

Subject: Re: KDELib-Doc Setting doesn't work

KDevelop-2 is no longer supported. No further bugfix releases are planned for
the 2.x series.

Gideon has a rewritten algorythm of determining KDELibs doc path. Please check
if this bug applies to Gideon. Closing for now.
