Description Jan Hrabe 2003-02-03 06:57:04 UTC
Version: 3.1 (using KDE 3.1.0)
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.10-4GB

The KAddressBook program sometimes crashes when an attempt is made to import imperfectly formatted ASCII (CSV) file. It should report an error instead. Correctly formatted CSV data are imported OK.

Thanks
Honza

Hi,

I'd love to but unfortunately the offending file was a result of a bug in my
perl program for conversion of a palm pilot text data and as I fixed it, the
bad file was overwritten. Sorry about that. I tried to generate some other
"bad" input files but could not make it crash. The file that crashed it had
some fields empty in some rows and perhaps some quotes missing.

Cheers,
Honza

I have such a file. I have just dumped it out of Outlook 2000 and it crashes KAddressbook with
out fail.

Steps to reproduce:
	1. Load the .csv file
	2. Apply the Outlook 2000 template
	3. Import

I have included my csv file, along with the core dump for Kaddressbook.

If you have any questions please contact me. Hope this helps.

The development of the old KAddressBook will be discontinued for KDE 4.4.
Since the new application has the same name, but a completly new code base we close all bug reports against the old version and ask the submitters to resend there reports against the new product.
