The news.bbc.co.uk headline ticker applet loads in an external window.

Possibly due to using Apples X11 to display konqueror running remotely and the supplied window manager ( does it understand embedding hints?)

The JDK used worked previously i.e. the only changes are updates to 3.1 and the use of Apples X11.

I'm using kde 3.1 (compiled via Konstruct) on Mandrake Linux.  I have seen the 
same behaviour at:

This did not happen when using kde 3.0.1.

I can't comment on apple's X, but it works for me too
