Description Martin Hignett 2003-01-31 15:40:34 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Go to http://www.guardian.co.uk/crossword/ and click any one of the crossword links on the right hand side (sorry about the fiddle, but the urls change every day).

Using KDE 3.0/Konqueror 3.0 it was possible to complete the crossword (but the buttons along the bottom didn't work). Having upgraded to KDE 3.1/Konqueror 3.1 the keyboard events don't seem to make it to the java app, that is the letters don't appear on the crossword. Curiously the button's along the bottom work with this build, so at least I can cheat :-)!

I've tried running Konqueror from a shell but there are no messages.

works for me

with KDE 3.1 compiled from current KDE_3_1_BRANCH

Okay, this is a bit weird: Sometimes it works, but more often than not it
doesn't. If it is working, pressing one of the buttons along the bottom (Cheat,
Check, Anagram etc.) stops it from working. If I log out and back in again it
will work again for a while (an hour or so, or until I click one of the buttons
mentioned above).

I hope this helps! Maybe its a distribution specific bug? I'm using SuSE 8.1 if
that's any help to anyone!

I'm no longer getting this problem with cvs head so I'm closing it as resolved.
