somehow i think that this is an X server problem. which hardware + driver do you use?
It's a HP XAs workstation with a ATI card. I never had this problem before with KDE 3.0.5 (Debian) or KDE 2 (SuSE). $ lspci | grep ATI 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc 3D Rage Pro AGP 1X/2X (rev 5c) ii x-window-system 4.2.1-3 X Window System Regards, Yann
do you use the driver from xfree or the one from ati? does it work if you switch?
no reply == no bug ;-) i think this is a bug in the x-server. ati released a closed-source driver some time ago, which doesn't have a much better reputation than the one from nvidia - maybe the submitter used it.
Subject: Re: kdm crash while logging Hi, I didn't have the time to check further, but I use only free software from Debian. So no closed source driver from anywhere. Regards, Yann Le Mercredi 2 Avril 2003 16:41, vous avez
