Description AndreSmit 2003-01-11 15:55:10 UTC
Version: 2.2.0 (KDE standard) (using KDE KDE 3.0.99)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: GCC 3.2.1 Gentoo Linux 1.4 RC1 and RC2
OS: Linux

You have done a great job working on Noatun. However, here are some feature requests to make Noatun bette. Possibly for KDE 3.2 :)

When i play a videoclip (mpeglib), there is a different window wich plays the video. It should be very nice to integrate it a bit more into Noatun so it looks more like one piece of software. Ofcourse it still uses the mpeglib plug-in.

If i compare Windows Media Player (WMP) 8.0 with Noatun 2.2.0, the mediaplayer from Microsoft looks more like one piece of software.

So, the separate 'moviewindows' should be placed inside, or next to Noatun.

If possible, add a full-screen option. Ofcourse it works using the right mousebutton, but there are always newbies who don't know how to play full-screen. Another nice thing would be the function to play-stop movies without leaving full-screen (WMP 8.0/9.0).

These features could make Noatun more userfriendly and easier to use. (I have to explain my dad how to go full-screen and how to leave it ;-))

Thanks a lot for taking your time.

You cannot integrate the video into Noatun because most Noatun UI plugins have a fixed window layout with no space for a video.
What could or should be done is adding a simple toolbar to the video window so you can zoom or go fullscreen without the context menu.

Use the "simple" user-interface. It has a integrated video (IMHO this interface ought to be default).

alt-enter should enter/leave fullscreen video.

noatun has not been part of the KDE 4 release and is no longer maintained.

KDE now offers Dragon as a video player and JuK as a music player. Additionally, other popular KDE players have been ported to KDE 4, such as Amarok or Kaffeine.

If this issue is still applicable to KDE 4 applications, please add a comment or file a new report.
