Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.99) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Hi, the progress windows that is shown at exit while kmail expires and compacts folders is nice, but it should be centered, or at least moveable. When it stays in the upper left like it currently does, it prevents one from accessing the menu of any other application on the same desktop.
Subject: Re: New: progress window at exit should be centered Oh that note: What is the advantage of the new progress widget (KPassivePopUp?) that was added sometime before 3.1 RC5? I liked the old one much better, it was possible to move it, it was just a simple dialog - IMVHO the way it should be. What's the advantage of the current solution? In comparison, I find it pretty annoying, although I'm probably just uninformed.
Subject: Re: progress window at exit should be centered @Yves: A centered cleanup dialog would be much more distracting. We could probably make the dialog be displayed on the lower left instead of the upper left. But this would require changes in the core libraries of KDE. @Magnus: The current cleanup dialog is a passive popup. This means it doesn't interrupt the user who wants to continue working while KMail is shutting down. The old cleanup dialog had focus and therefore it wasn't possible to type anything in another window without first activating this window.
Sometimes (yes, I know...) the right half of this popup seems distorted. See the screenshot at http://www.oppeln-bilder.de/kmailbug.png kdelibs or QT problem?

*** Bug 56445 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
in reply to #2 it's nice that it doesn't interrupt the user by grabbing focus but it interrupts me quite badly by covering the back and forward buttons of my browser for example or the File and Edit menus of most other apps. Anything which cannot be dismissed, hidden or otherwise avoided is guaranteed to interrupt users.
I believe this progress window is removed, right?
I don't see it anymore in KMail 1.7
and thus closing it...
