Version: 3.1.0 (CVS as of 2002-12-28) (using KDE Devel) Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 3.2.1 (Mandrake Linux 9.1 3.2.1-2mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.20-2mdk In Konqueror, when you have multiple tabs open and close a tab while a page is being retrieved for it, every other tab disappears and the Back button is disabled. Interestingly, this bug only occurs when a URL is typed into the Location bar, not when loaded from a bookmark, a hyperlink, or an address typed into the Open Location dialogue. To reproduce the problem, you might need a slow connection or a slow destination server (or both): - at least 2 tabs should be open (open a new one if necessary) - type an address into the Location bar on any of the tabs and hit Enter - close that tab before the page starts to load (i.e. when status bar still says "Waiting for reply" or before that) Expected behaviour: The page that was entered into the Location bar should stop loading when its tab closes. Actual behaviour: The page load is not cancelled, and removes every other tab when the page does start to load! Only 1 tab remains (i.e. no tab bar), showing the page that just loaded. Furthermore, the Back button is disabled so there's no way of recovering any data that was lost in the other tabs (i.e. form entry in progress)!
I have experienced tabs disappearing, but the situation was a bit different. I had about 7 tabs open. I clicked on a bookmark on bookmark toolbar (by mistake), which caused all tabs to disappear and the bookmarked page to open on konqueror. If I then selected new tab from Window menu, I saw how the old tabs flashed on konqueror window for a fraction of a second, when the new tab was added. However, I did not manage to get these old tabs back. I have experienced this situation two or three times, and it always happened when I clicked on bookmark on bookmark toolbar by mistake (maybe one of the tabs was loading page, so this might have some similarity to this original bug report).
Can't reproduce with KDE 3.1.4 or HEAD.
