Description Christoph Kuhn 2002-12-28 21:46:39 UTC
Version: 3.0.3 (using KDE 3.0.3)
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 3.2
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-4GB

if I want to change the event category, I have to
- right click on event
- choose edit
- click on 'Categories'
- choose the category
- click 'OK'
- click 'OK'

if I could do the same by right click on event, move to category, select category
-> much faster!

Further, there are the same settings for events allmost, lets talk about profiles:

Examples:
1.[Business-Phone] Business, Phonecall, busy, public, reminder 5 minutes before
2.[Birthdays] Birthday, free, private, reminder 3 days before
3.[Holydays] Holydays, busy, public, no reminder
4.[date] Date, busy, private,reminder 2h before
...

Perhaps on could allocate such profiles in the contextmenu? What do you think about?

thanx for your engagement!!!

chris

Subject: Re: set event category by contextmenu

You can do the following:
- - double click the event
- - click on 'Categories'
- - choose the category
- - click 'OK'
- - click 'OK'
That's a little bit faster.

Second the "profiles":
They are called "templates" in KOrganizer and are implemented with KDE 3.1.
You just have to wait for SuSE to make the new RPM-packages.
Much fun with that :-)

ciao

In the todo view we already have a category context menu. It would be nice to have this available more widely.

Especially since there is no way to change categories of several events simultaneously, being able to select the category in a context menu would be very useful. I just spent a while converting my timetable events after I had found out about event colouring by category.

Maybe even better:
In stead of a "Move to"-submenu, simply add a "Category"-submenu to the context menu of an event. In this submenu, just list all the categories as a "checkbox-menuitem". This way, it seems easier to me to manage categories, especially when multiple categories are being used.
