Version: 2.1 (using KDE 2.2.2) Installed from: Debian Package 4:2.2.2-13 (3.0) Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18 Not exactly a bug, but a problem anyway. Although the setup program says that I have the correct paths to the Kdevelop and Qt docs, the only part of the help system that works is the displaying of Qt man pages. I just found (after a bit of Googling) the c_cpp_reference tar file, and installed it. But it is not found by Kdevelop, and I don't see any place where I can tell the setup program where to find these docs. When I run Kdevelop Setup it tells me that the following paths have been set and are correct: /usr/share/qt/doc/html/ (for Qt) /usr/share/doc/kdelibs3-doc/html (for KDE) Invoking Options > Kdevelop Setup, on the other hand, was saying that the KDE docs were in a directory under /home/gib/.kde/apps/..., which was actually empty. Changing this to the /usr/share/doc/.. path above had an effect on the help. Whereas before "Search for help on", for example, KSocket, would do nothing at all, now it says "KSocket not found in the documentation". I tried doing "Create Search Database" but this generated a large number of errors: "Permission denied or non- existent file". I have checked that I have read permission in both doc directories. Where does one find help for setting up the help system? thanks Gib
KDevelop-2 is no longer supported. No further bugfix releases are planned for the 2.x series. It may well be that Gideon has bugs in the documentation part, but those are coincidental with this report against 2.x. It's better to close this and make room for relevant reports (against 3.0). Closing.
