Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.99) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc 2.95.3 OS: Linux When starting kappfinder, the initial window is not wide enough to display the 'Scan' button referenced in the text. While it's no big deal to just resize the window, it's bound to confuse new users and should IMHO be fixed so that kappfinder starts up with a window large enough to display all buttons (if the X resolution is large enough for that, ofcourse). An alternative solution would be to move the 'Scan' button from its current possition (on the right) to a new position on the left, so it's always visible to users. This has been reported before as Bug 38487 , but that bugreport war closed as FIXED. The issue is *not* fixed (this is with KDE 3.1-rc5). I'll attach a screenshot to this bugreport showing the kappfinder window as it appears upon initial launch on my system. /Jesper Juhl
Created attachment 604 [details] Image showing the 'too small' initial kappfinder window - the 'Scan' button would IMHO be better placed as the leftmost button and 'Cancel' should be moved to the right.
