Description David Bishop 2002-12-10 20:59:25 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.99)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

Previously, I was able to use the environment variables I have setup for konqueror and other web apps. I use the form http_proxy=http://username:password@ext.proxy.com:8080/, and while not terribly secure, it works. However, with 3.1, it no longer parses that correctly, resulting in a "protocol died unexpectedly" error. As I can't/won't change the environment variables (other apps depend on them), I have to use the manual config, and enter the user/pass manually. Please fix, thanks :-)

Btw, many thanks for the great work you guys are doing! I am the envy of all my collegues, running 3.1 B-)

Hi David,

Fixed. We (actually I) overlooked the proxy authentication when I fixed the
WWW-Authentication for the same issue :( It has been applied to the upcoming KDE
3_1_BRANCH and will be applied to the HEAD branch in few days.

Thanks for the report.

Regards,
Dawit A.
