Version: 3.0 (using KDE 3.0.5) Compiler: gcc version 3.2 OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-4GB If I remember correctly, this problem became serious with 3.0. For certains things, Quanta+ is awfully slow (even on my 1200 Mhz machine). What I mean is that it takes several seconds to react. Examples: - When I'm editing a CSS file, Quanta takes between 2 and 3 seconds to react to any keystroke! But copying, cutting, pasting, typing return or deleting some characters reacts normally. Needless to say, this is hell to type a CSS like this. - When I open an existing file in my project (after Quanta+ has been launched), Quanta+ needs around five seconds to open it, even if the file is small. Same when I close the file. - When I want to quit Quanta+ or open the upload dialog, Quanta+ seems to spend around five or six seconds going through all the files before reacting to what I'm asking. Of course, the worst is the CSS problem. I end up typing everything through cut and paste. I remember that it was already slow in Quanta+ 2, but not that slow! If this can help, no other KDE editor (Kate, KWrite, etc) has that kind of problem.

Should be much better in 3.1. > - When I open an existing file in my project (after Quanta+ has been > launched), Quanta+ needs around five seconds to open it, even if the file > is small. Solved in 3.1. > - When I want to quit Quanta+ or open the upload dialog, Quanta+ seems to > spend around five or six seconds going through all the files before > reacting to what I'm asking. A little faster in 3.1, and you have some feedback about the progress. > Of course, the worst is the CSS problem. I end up typing everything through > cut and paste. I will close this bug report, if you don't mind. Andras
