Description Neil Stevens 2002-12-05 12:05:12 UTC
Version:           2.2.0 (using KDE 3.1.1 (CVS >= 20021124))
Installed from:    compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.19

Noatun exits when the session is saved.

I suppose it's almost a good thing that KDE 3.1 decided to eat my session, or else I might not have run into this bug for months.

Neil is right. I can confirm this bug in KDE 3.1.1a (compiled from sources too).
At first I thought Noatun crashed. Started from a command line produces no crash
proof at all, so I believe it closes normally. I wanted Noatun to run each time I start
my KDE session. Currently this is not possible, since I can't save its state no matter
if it plays, if it's stopped, minimised or restored. It simply closes.

Just for another data point, I'm currently using a noatun from CVS, dated:
2003-06-09. This bug is still present. I'm using Debian/unstable.

I just noticed this one also.

I thought maybe it would say something interesting from the
command line, but it is quiet. I tried running it as
noatun --qdebug
and got this:

QApplication::postEvent: Unexpected null receiver

Need  a back-trace.

I saw it crash but not always. Strange. Program always exits when session saved, though.
Comment 6 Stefan Gehn 2003-11-16 13:23:44 UTC
Can't reproduce this with current CVS, my Noatun exits on session end and restarts even with correct playing status.
I have no idea when and how this was fixed though.
Comment 7 Stefan Gehn 2003-12-27 12:15:02 UTC
I assume this is fixed now
Comment 8 Michał Kosmulski 2004-04-27 14:59:31 UTC
This bug seems to be back as of kde 3.2.1. What's funny is that if I save my session while noatun is running, noatun closes (no dr. konqui screen), but then I log back in and noatun is restored correctly in the state it was when session was saved
Comment 9 uli9999 2004-05-24 09:43:25 UTC
Michal's description is correct: Noatun closes when I select "Save session".

I think this should be considered as a bug. It is still present in 3.2.2 (SuSE's "supplementary" RPMs for SuSE 9.1).
Comment 10 uli9999 2004-06-11 18:03:06 UTC
This problem still exists in 3.2.3 (SuSE RPMSs for 9.1).
Comment 11 uli9999 2004-12-20 11:28:04 UTC
The point is that you only experience this bug if you use manual session saving: enable "On login: restore manually saved session" in the session management section of the control center.

An entry "save session" appears in the KDE menu (above "lock session" and "logout"). When you select this, Noatun exits. However, it should just save is status.

This is still a bug.

This is when noatun is run from command line, finishes a movie, and then is closed manually:
