Version: 4.0 (using KDE KDE 3.0.99) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.17-P4-4GB Lets say there are 5 tabs in a konqueror window and all these tabs are visible. Also, these 5 tabs take up all the space in the "tab-bar" (if u can call it by that name). Now open a 6th tab. The 6th tab appears and is still visible. Now u type an url and load it in the tabbed window for the 6th tab. 1. Immediately, the 6th tab gets shifted to the right and becomes invisible. Also the right tab button (for moving the tabs from right to left) is found inactive !! Why ? 2. If i reduce the width of the konqueror window so that only 1st four tabs are visible, the right tab button still remains inactive. How do I now click on the 5th tab (which has now become invisible) ? 3. If I click on the rightmost (the 4th) tab, only then the right tab becomes active. So, to reach the 5th tab I must first click on the 4th tab !! This is very cumbersome. The expected behavior should be that if there are invisible (part or whole) tabs to either the left or right, the corresponding tab must be active.
The same thing appears in Konqueror 3.1
This is readily apparent when you're currently viewing the rightmost tab, and the title of the tab changes, like when you click on a new link. Konqueror seems to repond by redrawing all the tabs, but doesn't bring the currently focused tab into view. This combined with the fact that if the last tab is active, the next tab right arrow button is inactive, means that you have to select another tab for the arrow to be active, and the click on the arrow.
I'm also seeing this with KDE 3.1.2 on Linux/Debian.

I concur that this behaviour happens as described in this bug and bug 55488. It is really annoying. Virgil

Doesn happen in KDE 3.2 with shrinking tabs.
