Description Felix Seeger 2002-11-08 23:37:51 UTC
Version: v0.7 (using KDE 3.0.9)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19

Flying unit shoots at sam-site first, they should shoot at other flying units first because I can also destroy the sam-site with a ship/tank.
Comment 1 Rivo Laks 2002-12-18 21:46:41 UTC
But what if your army contains of aircrafts only? Then noone else can shoot at samsites ;-)

Yes, but it doesn't matter if you kill the aircraft first and than the sam-site which is no
problem with a tornado only army.

But try to kill the aircraft with a army of two tornados and X Tigers, that is no fun with
the current AI ;)
Comment 3 Rivo Laks 2002-12-18 22:16:46 UTC
Current AI first shoots at units which can shoot at it. I could make the shooting logic
super-clever, but it would be pretty slow then :-(

Maybe we should do that later. It is ok for me if it is a bug and it will be
fixed. Maybe than is boson faster (btw. thanks for your commit which fixed
the exp1 map)

have fun

this is a wish

I have another idea how this could be done, a general formula for calculating attacking prioities (how is this done atm ?):
 (Health / 10) + Armor + Shield + Sum-of-Weapons-power + 10 if unit is a flying unit

The values should be calculated from the base values, not current game values.
The result can be used to have a prioity and can be calculated during map loading. So this shouldn't be a performance problem.

Of course maybe this formula doesn't work well in the game, but this is something we can tune later.

Unfortunately, Boson is no longer maintained.

we're closing out all the boson bugs in Bugzilla since there is no chance of them being fixed.

Accepting Andreas Beckermann's request to reopen the Boson's bugs. Sorry for the spam.

Boson is considered discontinued. Closing bugs as UNMAINTAINED.
