if you click "apply" in the kcm, the dock bar is restarted and   restores it's session. too bad, that it did this already during the "real" startup ...
i'm not sure whether it is a good idea to let the dockbar do own session management at all. at least it should ask ksmserver which apps are already xsmp-managed, but it would be probably better if ksmserver did all the session management (that is, non-xsmp-compliant session management would have to be added to ksmserver).
