Installed from:    SuSE
Compiler:          gcc version 3.2
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-4GB

open new mail -> add latex-file as attachment.
view or send this attachment -> all "_" symbols are removed!
I can reproduce it.

I can't reproduce it.

KMail doesn't alter attachments in any way (except encoding them for 
transport). I suspect that you are using a broken font where all "_" 
are displayed as "". Did you save a sent attachment and then check the 
saved file?
