Still present. Konqis textareas are very slow, but for example qt desiger is fast. Unset LC_CTYPE works, but is not a choice.

Not Konsole specific.

You do not need to unset LC-vars, the only locales affected are these with 
the "@euro"-aliases. 
 
If you try xx_XX.UTF-8 or xx_XX.ISO-8859-1 and choose it as your 
standard locale, there's no lag or slowdown, even with xx_XX.ISO-8859-15 
everything is alright. 
The problem seems to deal with the @euro-aliases only.

Current qt-copy fixes the problem.
