Description 0mecir 2002-10-28 18:17:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.2)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
Compiler: gcc 2.96
OS: Linux

While browsing remote shares (on w95 or w98), smb often stops working. The kde gear in konq's window keeps spinning, but nothing else happens...
Also, downloading files from smb sometimes works, sometimes hangs - makes getting more than few files impossible...
smbclient and mounting work well. Using samba 2.2.3a

After it hangs, smbclient and kdeinit that called it just sit in process list, doing nothing...

Hope this helps

/ Tomas

I have exaclty the same problem. I am using konqueror 3.0.3, from the original mdk 9 install. I have to try twice to enter a remote dir because at first the gear spins and spins and nothing. ( I wonder, how cam mandrake did not test this before releasing....). Also , not only one has to try twice but everytime you download a file you have to give the password again, as it does not remember it. Imagine, one password per downloaded file.... Let me know if you find a solution Best regards Gustavo
