Version: 1.2 Beta2 (using KDE 3.0.8 (KDE 3.1 beta2)) Installed from: compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19 I often scroll up while a program runs, I need the output and go to another shell in konsole (often with the keyboard). When I switch back, sometimes konsole jumps back to the last line (to the bottom of the screen) It should stay as long as the history allows it.
I can't remember having experienced that. You don't know any condition for "sometimes"? :-)
Better question would have been: How do you switch between session? With mouse or with keyboard (which shortcut function)?

Is this still a problem with KDE 3.1[.1]?
Subject: Re: Sometime konsole jumps back to last line during output Yes, it is not fixed. I am not sure if it also happens in HEAD. I think I saw this one time, but I am not sure. The problem is that when you scroll up while you get alot of output (like looking at the apache access log during a DOS attack ;)) the output stands still (cool feature) and the scrollbar goes up. Than select somthing. The selection will jump down and you can start selection from this point. If you don't select up --> down but down --> up I cannot see this effect.
Now suddenly selection is involved!? You are sure that it's not the same bug as #49580?
I'll say this has been fixed; reopen if you find it still in KDE3.4
