Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.8) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: mandrake 9.0 gcc 3.2 OS: Linux This occurs after new mail comes into a non-selected folder. Sometimes selecting the folder with new mail results in one of the new messages being selected, forcing the user to watch the ${folder_name} ${new count} to see if it decreases. Othertimes an old message is selected and one needs to scroll upwards to see the new message(s). Ideally, clicking on a folder with new messages on it should highlight the highest non-new message and scroll the message list up so that the non-new highlighted message is along the bottom, allowing you to see the new messages _before_ they are clicked on.
I don't see a bug here. When you enter a folder which contains new messages (i.e. messages which arrived in this folder since you last visited it) KMail optionally jumps to the first new message. This is configurable (in Configure KMail...->Folders). If you don't like this turn it off. When this feature is turned off or the folder doesn't contain any new messages the message which was last read is selected.
