Version: 1.90 (using KDE 3.0.8 (KDE 3.1 beta2)) Installed from: (3.0) Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18 I use kmix essentially as a volume control in the system tray. I can't do this since if I save the session, when I logout and log in again kmix starts noniconified (or better, not-"whatever it does when you close it and it remains into the systray"). I would like to be able to specify "start hidden" OR that kmix would save its state when saving session Vincenzo
I experience the same bug with Kmix in 3.0.99 (KDE 3.1 RC 3) and find it annoying. I think this should be promoted from "wishlist" to at least "normal" bug state. For a while I thought I'd done something wrong myself because Kmix kept appearing on the screen when I returned to a session, although it wasn't there when I left.
I share the same feeling with mark@summersault.com. In KDE 3.0 I used KMix as a startup element in menu with option "Dock into panel" selected. Now [in KDE3.1] it appears on the desktop after login regardless the docking option. It is really annoying, please either make the behaviour configurable or restore previous defaults.
Hmm, strange that 3 people report this. I am using a current Version (CVS from 25.2.2003) and it works for me. So I cannot reproduce this. Has anbody of you programming experience to debug this issue?!? Chris

I have Debian unstable KDE 3.1.1 packages installed now, and I can no longer reproduce this. Appears fixed to me. :)
OK, I have found some possible bug regarding this. It is fully reproducible when closing KMix via systray. I have made a fix which is in CVS now.
*** Bug has been marked as fixed ***.
All fixed Bugs (once verified) should be closed. Doing so. Chris
The bug still happens sometimes with kde 3.1.4. I don't know if this is pre or post the closing date, so forgive me if I am wrong reopening this bug. I am using now kde 3.1.4 from fedora core (formerly red-hat) with kmix 1.9.1
Vincenzo, KDE3.1.4 is post closing date. But I am not sure whether the patch is in KDE3.1.4 or will only show up in KDE3.2. The only thing I can do at the moment is to wait for you to confirm whether KMix of KDE3.2 is OK or not. Chris
Ok I put on kde3.2 beta, and this bug seems not to show up anymore {I hope}
I'd just like to say 'me too' on kmix 1.91, KDE 3.1.4, FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE. Indeed notice the same problem. Will wait and see if this is fixed in KDE 3.2...
