Description Seva Gluschenko 2002-10-08 13:34:00 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.3)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20020320 [FreeBSD]
OS: FreeBSDFreeBSD

when looking konsole tip, either at konsole's startup or invoking from Help menu, the tip's window appears quite oversized in a horizontal dimension. On my 1024x768 desktop it's even ends beyond the right edge of the desktop, so I need to move window before I'm able to reach buttons (aligned right).

It's not that big deal of course, but it's quite annoying and most probably incorrect, so please pay few minutes of your attention to fix it. Thanks :-)

well, I took a look at console where I typed startx and found there the
following:

konsole: chownpty failed for device /dev/ptyp1::/dev/ttyp1.
: This means the session can be eavesdroped.
: Make sure konsole_grantpty is installed in
       : /usr/local/bin/ and setuid root.
kioslave : ###############SEG FAULT#############
kioslave : ###############SEG FAULT#############

the konsole_grantpty is installed indeed and it is setuid root, so problem
lays somewhere else. Don't know really whether these two problems are linked
together, moreover, I doubt in that.

This is a Qt 3.0.5 bug. Hopefully should be fixed by 3.0.6; certianly fixed on
the Qt3.1 branch, but you probably don't want that.
