Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.3) Installed from: Mandrake RPMs Compiler: gcc3.2 OS: LinuxLinux When i want to leave linux sometimes appears me a window with the kde logo(the litle dragon) wth 3 choices,1-Log Out 2-Reiniciate the computer 3-Halt. Other time sappears a small window only with the option if you want to save the session. Should only appear the window with the KDE logo(the litle dragon and with the 3 options. How can this bug be fixed? thanks Jose Melo
the "reduced" logout dialog appears only in the first session after a system boot. even restarting kdm does not lead to this effect. i have no other explaination than that mdk did some magic that backfired. the submitter is highly motivated to try upstream sources, so maybe we'll see later if i was right. :)

This bug is not invalid, and is still active. It has been discussed several times at the mandrake site: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=375 It manifiests simply: on the first autologin session, the logout menu shows only the 'logout' and 'close' buttions: it does not offer to restart or halt the computer. If the user logs out and logs in again with the session manager (any kind; it perfoms identically with kdm, gdm, or the mandrake session manager) then the logout dialog appears. This bug has been around from KDE 3.0. I am currently seeing it in KDE 3.1, gcc-3.2.2, Mandrake 9.1 installation. Although an annoyance bug, it makes the close menu more or less usless. Autologin is most beneficial on single-user machines like laptops. Unlike server machines, single-user machines are the most likely to be shut down frequently (expecially laptops) and rebooted into different OSs (as we are wont to do). When packing up to go home for the night, I sure wish I could log out and close down my laptop with two clicks, rather than logging out, waiting for XFree86 to restart, waiting for the session manager to boot and selecting Halt from a menu there. ---Nathaniel

So, any new news? Can it be already be fixed the logout problem?
still a mandrake bug, so still not my problem. :-P i looked at the mandrake-modified kdm and didn't find anything relevant; they only modified the gui a bit. i think http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=375 comment #16 (with reference to #13) makes most sense as an explaination.
