Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.3) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages Compiler: gcc 2.95.4 OS: Linux The mp3 preferences show up in the configuration thingy but I don't see an mp3 directory. I am using liblame0 (3.92) and the kde debs from kde.org. The liblame package I have is the liblame0 package compiled from the upstream lame sources. in /usr/lib: libmp3lame.so.0 and libmp3lame.so.0.0.0

Greetings, Stephan
I think this is not a report for bugs.debian.org. What we need is a runtime detection for liblame, since there are these license issues that hold off distributions like Debian to include liblame. And so you can't compile the kio_audiocd with lame support, because then it depends on liblame. It should be something like "Is there a liblame installed on this system? Ok, you get mp3-support. Is there no liblame? No mp3-support shows up." Or did I get something wrong here and this feature is already implemented? I'm just wondering, I'm using Debian also and the kio_audiocd shipped with the Debian packages doesn't give me mp3-support. If this feature is already implemented, this is of course a report for bugs.debian.org :-)
This is definetly a bug for bugs.kde.org, have a look at Bug 64099.
