Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.3) Installed from: Mandrake RPMs OS: Linux When you load a large image, the CPU load goes to 100% (with X at about 70%), even if Konqueror is minimized. I am using a Duron800 (384MB Ram) with a 32MB Nvidia Graphics Card (nvidia driver). The same images loaded much faster using mozilla. Here a some links to large images: http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1DS/downloads/Fruit1l.JPG http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1DS/downloads/Fruit1s.JPG http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1DS/downloads/Portrait1l.JPG http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1DS/downloads/Portrait1s.JPG http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1DS/downloads/Portrait2L.JPG http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1DS/downloads/Portrait2S.JPG http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1D/SPL/JPEG/samp_photo_m2.jpg http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS1D/SPL/JPEG/samp_photo_m1.jpg
I can confirm the Behaviour of Konqueror with KDE 2.2.2 <br> I happens, when view ist set to "embedded Picture-Viever", <br> which ist the Standard-Setting. <br>
konqi also eats all available memory until OOM-killer arrives. (I've tested machines with 128MB and 256MB memory). I'd say this is a showstopper.
Same behaviour here with KDE 3.1rc5. Does it when it's a local file as well. I have a Celeron 500 with a Matrox G400.
Loading the URL below causes serious problems (system slows to a crawl, mostly virtual memory I think; high CPU) in Konqueror because of the large image. DO NOT OPEN THIS IN KONQUEROR UNLESS YOU WANT TO RISK A SYSTEM FREEZE http://www.cluelessmailers.org/spamdemic/mapfullsize3.html Also the image is stretched out of proportion. Using KDE 3.1.

I can also confirm this same problem. They seem to be very slow, and some are completely skewed. I'm on 3.1.1 David
Still does it for me 3.1.91 CVS http://www.swrt.com/cpimages/443280.jpg
the same especially if you refresh the page : http://linux-wizard.tuxfamily.org/bugs/test4.html http://linux-wizard.tuxfamily.org/bugs/images/MarPers2.jpg this happen also for local view ( put the image on the disk, double click to preview and then hit refresh several times ). even an AMD Athlon 1900+ with 512M RAM will be down at the end.
