Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.7) Installed from: Mandrake RPMs OS: Linux The option to create a filter from an incoming email is great (is it new in 3.1, or didn't I notice it before, I don't know...) One useful enhancement to this (and filters in general) would be to be able to set up filter templates. For example, when spam gets through my filters, I know I'm going to want to set up a filter that will recognise it, forward it to Spamcop and copy the spam to trash, marking it read so I don't have to bother with it. Just a thought...
Kind of templates are available via Tools->Create_Filter->Filter_On_... (as you've already seen). I'm not quite sure about the benefit of more templates or even a template management. You case regarding spam is IMO not that typical. Of course you can start with a few filters to get rid of spam, but you will soon realize that you end up having dozens of filters and much more filter rules which even don't come near to a usefull detection rate. As KMail in KDE PIM 3.3 will support the integration of special anti-spam tools which will solve your problem much better, please consider closing this report. Thanks for using KMail - I hope you'll enjoy KDE 3.3.
Sounds reasonable. Thanks for the excellent software - I'm looking forward to 3.3 already.
