(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kmail Version: 1.4.6 (using KDE 3.0.7 1 beta1)) Severity: wishlist Installed from: compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-4GB OS/Compiler notes: HI after the first save the massages have the status unread after editing and saveing it again they are "read" why? IMHO the should always stay "unread" unless the user marks them manualy. (which is not possible any more) cu ferdinand (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog)
I agree with Ferdinand, IMHO it's better to leave the messages in the draft folder always unread (like for the outbox folder).
Absolutely

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
Hi, The behavior of kmail2 is still the same, having the new draft messages marked as unread is the default behavior in most muas, so I don't really care about it, but then, it makes little sense to receive a notification about the draft message you just saved. It would be better if the actions on new/unread mail are disabled in the Drafts folder by default. Or, let the user decide whether the to mark saved Drafts as read/unread. This feature request was originally requested in: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=421898 and: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145038 which was tagged as a duplicate of this issue, although they are not exactly the same requests.
