Description Bugzilla Maintainers 2002-08-26 14:33:57 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konsole
Version: 1.1.3 (using KDE 3.0.3 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from:
Compiler: gcc version 3.2 (Red Hat Linux Rawhide 3.2-1)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-3smp
OS/Compiler notes:

I want my terminal size to be 80x24 and have the window pixel size grow and shrink when the font size changes. Konsole currently prefers to keep the pixel size roughly constant leading to strange terminal sizes.

I think the consensus is that the window size should not be resized by changing font/tabbar/scrollbar/etc...

konsole --noresize
and then change the font size... rather odd looking window.

See comment #1; the user could have multiple session each with different font sizes.

so you think it makes sense to have one 50x20 session and one 80x24 inside the same window? sounds very strange to me. if I change the font size, I want it to affect all the sessions. the interaction with Settings::Size is also quite non-intuitive as it is.

well, it's your choice. my choice is to not use Konsole, it's just too frustrating.
