Description Arne Schmitz 2002-07-20 10:50:11 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: noatun
Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 3.0.2 )
Severity: crash
Installed from: SuSE
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.17
OS/Compiler notes:

Whenever I delete the current file from the playlist Noatun crashes. The file does not need to be playing at the time it merely has to be the active file in the playlist.

Package: noatun
Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 3.0.2 )
Severity: crash
Installed from: source (tar.gz)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18

For me noatun only crashes if the file is the _last_ file in the playlist.
Otherwise it continues playing the next track in the playlist (even if it
wasn't playing before the deletion).

I might have fixed this and don't remember. Update your kdemultimedia (you're
running the one from kde3.0.0)

This is happening as of 3.1.3 (texstar rpm). Inaddition it will get stuck playing the first
item on the playlist unless I manually delete it from the playlist.

While you are investigating this I will upgrade to newest kmedia package when it comes
out. I will report back if that fixes it. I have a feeling it might be a bug that got
reintroduced with the new major release.

Bug also occurs on Gentoo Linux/KDE 3.1.3 (compiled from source). Reproduced by
having multiple items (9 in my case) in the playlist, using Select All (Ctrl-A),
then hitting the Delete key. Some of the playlist is deleted, then two songs
are indicated as being actively played back (at the same time), then noatun
hangs.

Status of this bug should not be resolved..
Comment 6 Stefan Gehn 2003-09-18 19:25:23 UTC
Not as long as there's no backtrace of the crash, there can be a multitude of ways
to make noatun crash while fiddling with playlist items

I've fixed a bug today that crashed the playlist when deleting the current playing item. I guess it finally qualifies as resolved, but please verify.

I cannot verify this right now, because I currently do not have time for
compiling KDE -- but the original bug does at least not appear in KDE 3.1.4
for me anymore.

Cheers,
