(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: konsole Version: KDE 3.0.1 Severity: wishlist Installed from: Unspecified Linux Compiler: Not applicable - applies to all versions OS: Not Specified OS/Compiler notes: See below I use konsole to maintain sessions on many (>6) servers. When I add new sessions (by creating new entries in ~/.kde/share/apps/konsole) they do not appear in alphabetic order when I click on the "New" button in konsole. When dealing with many sessions it is desireable to have the list sorted in alphabetic order. Another feature I would like to see is the ability to set the session title from within a shell session. Instead of having to type "konsole --type xyz" at the shell prompt I'd like to be able to set the name of the session from within the session itself. Instead of having to do a right-mouse click and select "Rename session" I'd like to be able to do something like type "export KONSOLE_SESSION=xyz" at the bash prompt. This would make running multiple sessions on different hosts much easier and practical. Having the abilty to access the Rename Session function from the shell would be fantastic! Thanks for your great work! I love konsole. Let's make it even better! (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
> it is desireable to have the list sorted in alphabetic order.=20 Unlikely to be ever implemented confusing for users if GUI changes. > like to see is the ability to set the session title from within a shell= =20 Already possible http://lists.kde.org/?l=3Dkonsole-devel&m=3D1023303964303= 64&w=3D2
All this is possible using the latest release. 1) The sessions are alphabetical. 2) Use DCOP calls to rename sessions
