(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kdeprint Version: KDE 3.0.6 Severity: normal Installed from: SuSE Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-4GB OS/Compiler notes: kdeprint offers printing 2 or 4 pages on one even if psnup from the psutils is not installed. Instead of giving an error message it simply prints out one page on one. This is false. IMHO kdeprint should not offer to print two pages on one if it can't do it. Rather it should offer an explanation why the multiple pages on one option is greyed out. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog. Fields Application manually changed)
The corresponding widget should be disabled if psnup cannot be found. This is already implemented since 3.0 release and it works (just tested it here). Note that this is only the case if psnup is needed: like in non-CUPS print system or with special (pseudo) printers. For normal CUPS printers you can still print multiple page per sheets as CUPS is doing it itself no need for psnup and of course then the corresponding widget is not disabled.
