SUMMARY Currently, to disable the meta key, users must use a hack like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/55udc1/how_do_i_stop_the_meta_key_from_opening_the/ https://superuser.com/questions/1156130/kde-disable-super-l-windows-key-key-shortcut-as-menu-launcher This question reemerges due to some wanting to bind Meta to an open overview. https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/sogvgf/is_there_a_way_to_map_the_new_overview_effect_to/ Google "KDE meta shortcut" will pop up more similar questions... The hacks works, btw. That's probably also why it never becomes a bug report. OBSERVED RESULT Users cannot replace other actions' shortcuts with a single press of Meta. Meta is slightly different from ctrl/shift/alt because it will open kickoff/startmenu/launchpad on all modern systems, some users do want to change single press action to something else. EXPECTED RESULT 1. Put "Open kickoff/launcher" inside Settings -> ShortCut -> Plasma/Kwin, so that the user can turn it off by simply unselecting it or deleting the shortcut. 2. Enable user to set an action's shortcut as Meta. (as it is practically allowed by Meta using some hack)
