It's not technically possible to use Ctrl+Alt+K for for making kxkb change the keyboard layout, because the screensaver has the keyboard grabbed. Perhaps kxkb could detect the screen is locked and temporarily change to the US keyboard?

It may be nice to embed (as it looks in tray) kxkb into "enter password" dialog. In this case user can change keyboard layout to proper and enter password (note that this layout can be different to US). And, as wish - remake this password-prompting dialog to bit more eye-candy. Now it looks ugly.
