Description mallison 2002-07-08 18:41:41 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kword
Version: 1.2 Beta2 (using KDE 3.0.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Gentoo
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18
OS/Compiler notes:

It would be very useful if I could 'anchor' an image to a particular paragraph or word when that image is NOT inline. Currently If I insert a couple of lines (or worse a couple of pages) I have to go through my document and move each of my images back to the text they were supposed to accompany.

This was not so bad for smaller docs but very hard to work with for 50+ page documents with dozens of images.

If there were a way to anchor the images to a text block the images could move along with the text rather like wordperfect.

Just an idea...I love this program already. Kword is coming along beautifully thanks to all maintainers.

Can you tell me why you want to use non-inline frames?

For 75% of the cases an inline frame will do what you want..

You know you can align a picture center and right etc right?

This may be hard to implement but it would definately be useful for=20

just a feature request . . .

keep up the good work=20

Hi,
I'm also waiting for this function. I'm actually writing a book. Sometimes I
like to insert images (Screenshots and software logos) that should move with
the text if I insert new line anywhere before that paragraph. It should be
possible to anchor images with a paragraph so that the image moves whenever the
paragraph moves. This is specially important if the text becomes large.
Inline images are not enough because they cannot be put left or right to the
paragraph.
