(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: noatun
Version: 2.0.0 (using KDE 3.0.0 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Red Hat Linux 7.2.93
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-110)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-3
OS/Compiler notes:

Not much more to say - it seemed to be randomly (frequently for about 10 minutes only) to skip ahead (roughly 20 seconds) in a 10MB .mp3 I downloaded today. I could drag the playback indicator back to where I wanted it to play and it would - then it would skip another section. Now it's doing something else that's not right - it's looping on the song when I've set it to "no looping." The file is available at: http://www.digtones.com/images/KaliyugaJuly2002!!s.mp3

the no looping bug can't be reproduced here. In the future, please report
each bug by itself.

It's quite reproducible here, but it's not a "no-looping" bug - the problem is
that it loops after I've clicked to disable 'song looping'.

Were you able to reproduce the "skipping" aspect (I think the two problems may
be related, which is why they were reported together, but that's by far the more
important one)? It's regularly skipping 2-4 of the 10-second intervals it skips
when I'm using the mouse to click the location bar; my impression is that it's
related to a (disk-access and sound-decompression) resource limitation.

Do you want hardware or software information on the system where it shows?

Hm, the skipping is almost certainly a resource limitation problem.

But lots of weird things, like 20 seconds skipping is a lot more than I've
ever seen.

What CPU do you have? Is it IDE or SCSI? What Linux/Unix do you have?
