Description josephm 2002-06-11 06:57:32 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kjs
Version: 4.0 (using KDE 3.0.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-110)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-4
OS/Compiler notes:

When visiting http://online.wsj.com/public/us if you mouse over the blue javascript menus in the middle of the left hand side (Technology Markets Your Money Opinion At Leisure) the javascript popup window is rendered as its own page. Clicking on the back button takes you to the last site before visiting wsj.com and then clicking on the forward button crashes Konqueror.

On a stock RedHat 7.3 KDE 3.0 install the browser dies quickly with a SIGABRT. On my RedHat 7.3 desktop running KDE_3_0_BRANCH checked out late 10 June 2002 EDT a large memory leak ensues that temporarily freezes X and eventually crashes the browser. Needless to say I don't feel like reproducing that one but will if requested nicely :-).

I reproduced crash with KDE 3.0.1/Mandrake RPMs.
Backtrace is not very informative though:

Well it is here. Open the menu then go back and forth in the history.
This is with KDE_3_0_BRANCH compiled with gcc2.95 on debian testing.
