Description muth 2002-06-10 09:44:17 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konsole
Version: KDE 3.0.0
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Not Specified
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

I want to use konsole as a substitute for old vt520 terminals. Problem: the application running on the vt520's does rely on the 80x25 screen size. If the user does resize his konsole (or changes the font) the application will clobber its contents on the console resulting in a helpdesk call :(.

I'd like to have a --noresize (and --nochangefont) command line option for konsole to reduce helpdesk calls ;). It should be clear what these command line options should do.

This sound more appropriate as kiosk mode than command line option. Waldo?

Konsole/HEAD has a "--noresize Terminal size is fixed" parameter.
