Description Dan 2002-06-03 09:55:02 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konqueror
Version: KDE 3.0.1
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: SuSE 7.3

When the mouse cursor moves over "Location:" in the location toolbar its state changes--it has a plus sign so that it can paste a link to the current page. This probably should happen when "Location:" is clicked on maybe but in my case it happens any time the cursor moves over this word. This is very annoying because the cursor is in this area a lot and I don't want to paste links so I have to constantly press "Esc" to get out of this mode.

I've upgraded to SuSE 8.0 and KDE 3.0.1 from SuSE's FTP site and this behavior is still present.

Thank you for your bug report.

You have not provided enough information for us to be able to
reproduce the bug.

Specifically does it matter which style you are using? We have
another bug report of this happening with the SGI style.

Without this information we will not be able to take any action
on the bug.

Yes I am also using the SGI style. I haven't yet tried using
another style.

Can you please try reproducing this with the latest qt-copy and KDE 3.1 rc1?

I tried to reproduce this with the SGI and other styles but could not get the
same effect. It is possible the SGI style has already been fixed.

If you encounter this issue with a recent Qt 3.1 snapshot and KDE 3.1rc, can you
please let me know asap so I can fix this for KDE 3.1.

When I removed my .kde directory the problem disappeared. I don't know if I
can reproduce it any longer.

I removed my .kde directory, but the problem is still there. Furthermore, it also occurs in other styles, not just SGI. All the styles I tried had it (including Liquid). I'm still using SuSE 8.0, with the latest KDE 3.0.3 from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_8.0
Comment 8 Karol Szwed 2002-12-14 08:11:43 UTC
Can someone who had the problem previously with KDE 3.0.x please try a 3.1
release candidate and let us know if the problem is still there?

Comment 9 Dan 2003-03-11 08:44:59 UTC
I upgraded to SuSE 8.1 and the bug was still present. Then I deleted some kde settings file in the /etc
directory (forgot which one), and it went away.

Comment 10 Chris Lee 2003-09-14 09:10:05 UTC
I can't reproduce this bug, with KDE 3.1 or with CVS, using any style at all.

If it shows up again, we can always re-open it.
