SUMMARY

my system is set to use English as system language, except _formatting_numbers/dates/time.
Yet, when hovering over the Date&Time widget in systray, the tooltip shows the information in German.

I am not sure if either the time zone (Berlin) or the time format (de_DE) is used, but in either case, it shouldn't. The names of days and months should appear in the system language.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

When you use a German locale withGerman language for dates, it displays will dates using formatting appropriate for German. If you want dates displayed in English, you need to use an English locale with German formatting, such as en_DE.
Comment 2 arne anka 2020-12-17 17:48:54 UTC
The operative word here is _Format_ which is the position of values.
_Format_ does not mean _Translation_, which is what the bug report is about!

Additionally, there's no en_DE.

Please, do not close bugs without making sure you got things right.

Didn't notice that earlier, but when opening the calender from the applet, the locales are mixed -- the month in the calendar itself is correctly displayed in English, the full name in the header part incorrectly in German.
