Created attachment 133706 [details] Screenshot of the problem SUMMARY When starting the partition manager, the text field for granting root access is immediately overlapped by the loading window so one has to get the root access grant window back manually.
It will take some time to fix this and most of the work outside partition manager. I'm waiting until Plasma wayland supports some window raising protocol.
Thanks! I just noticed that this is only happening on Wayland. Is it sensible to track this in a different more central component also?

Looks like there are already some patches in https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/wayland-protocols/-/merge_requests/50 So this might be not too far away now. Although, I guess Qt changes will only land in Qt 6
Ah, alright. BTW: Having the KDE partition manager window overlay the password entry dialog box also happens to me on X11 when having another app (gparted) open before launching KDE partition manager. Is this another, different problem?

Is this another, different problem? Hmm, not sure... I haven't used X11 for quite some time now (since Plasma 5.12).
Ok. Might definitely be a thing to also bear in mind when tackling the problem on Wayland.

Created attachment 146349 [details] screenshot_X11 I have this happen with X11, not 100% of the time though, you may need more multiple disk drives to make it happen more often, i have 2 HDDs and 2 SSDs (1 nvme / 3 sata) installed
