Description jeremyhu 2002-05-05 20:07:28 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kwin
Version: KDE 3.0.0
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95.3
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

Actually a couple of problems with the MacOS style menu bar:

1. Some windows position themselves under it. The only way to drag the window is to click on the menu bar (which is hidden). The workaround I use is to maximize the window then just resize it but there should be a better way (like not letting windows start under the menu bar)

2. Full screen mode on applications should go over the menu bar. I've noticed this problem with opera and wine when playing windows games (winex playing starcraf for example)

Is this being worked on? It is still a problem with 3.0.4. It is quite
annoying to say the least...

Additional ways to reproduce this:

frozen-bubble (http://www.frozen-bubble.org/):
Start frozen bubble in full screen mode by typing 'frozen-bubble -fs' at the
console. When it starts up, the desktop menu bar is still present.

1.) should be fixed for KDE3.1, 2.) is a duplicate.
