Description kde 2002-02-17 23:17:55 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konqueror
Version: KDE 2.9.2
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95.3
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

This isn't really a problem in Konqueror but in the global keybindings. However there wasn't an option to choose that so I more-or-less arbitrarily picked Konqueror...

Also whether it's a bug or not might be in the eye of the beholder but here it is:

When you assign an action to a keybinding that clashes with a menu's accel key the menu takes precedence thus making the keybinding not work. Specifically for me I have Alt-L bound to "Open Location" in KDE 2 and it works fine. However when I did the same in 3 beta 2 Alt-L just pops up the Location menu.

I realize that this may be the "desired" behavior but since it worked previously I can only assume it's a bug.

I can only reassign to Ellis, maybe he has an idea if that's a
bug or a feature.
I'd say the behaviour is undefined - and that's what you get :)

This is a matter of Qt changes that can't be reasonable altered by KDE.
Comment 3 Ellis Whitehead 2002-10-07 23:44:41 UTC
I found a decent way to fix this...

Ellis fixed it (http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-cvs&m=103402699009354&w=2) , so
let's close the bug :)
