Description Xavier Helluy 2002-01-27 19:09:26 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kdeprint
Version: KDE 2.9.1 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

With Adobe Acrobat Reader I have the option "fit to page".
As an example this allows me to print a A3 document on a A4 printer. The option "fit to page" rescale the document to the size of the page. So all the text can be read.
This is very usefull when downloading documents from the internet (like printing A4/Letter documents on Letter/A4 printers.

There is no similar option within kprinter....

Cheers

This answer won't make you glad but kdeprint is not responsible of the print
content. This is the application's responsability. So this is not possible as
a built-in feature. However this function can be achieved by using the utiliy
psresize as an input filter. This utility allows to rescale a PS file by
specifying an input and output paper size. You can use that utility to resize
your PS file before printing. Additionally I can write the needed filter
description file to be able to use/configure that utility directly from the
"Filters" page of the printer properties dialog.

Bye.
Michael.
